Richard

Whitehurst

Educator, Ericksonian Psychotherapist, Transpersonal Hypnotherapist, published author, and international speaker – Richard Henry Whitehurst has been involved in meditation, transformation, and helping others to expand awareness since 1970. The former president of the Ericksonian Hypnotherapist Association of Australia, the former vice-president of the Queensland Professional Hypnotherapists Association and a certified trainer in HeartMath, Richard has nearly 30 years of clinical experience in utilizing therapeutic trance states and heart-centring orientations to heal trauma, foster emotional intelligence, gain freedom from emotional pain, and engender resilience and positive changes in thousands of clients from all over the world.

Beginning in the late 1960’s, he has spent years in research and practice involving a variety of meditative and contemplative modalities. A powerful transpersonal experience in 1970 made it clear that there was no turning back from what became an intensive and immersive decades-long experiential odyssey into higher consciousness.

Richard’s fascination with the importance of context has more recently become grounded in his other area of deep interest and concern – the need to understand our planetary-context and the pressing circumstances of our collective fate, living together as one human family on a single planet – Spaceship Earth – with limited resources and a life-support system that requires our immediate attention.

As a result of this prolonged focus, Richard has founded The Overview Institute of Australia along with its sister organisation and website Planetary Human wherein he and an impressive array of colleagues from around the world are working to direct attention and marshal the collective will to further catalyse humanity’s entrance into new paradigms of personal and planetary regeneration and thriving.

Richard has appeared in various media, and has lectured extensively in colleges, universities, workshops and conferences in America, England, Europe, India and Australia.
